Welcome to the Women's Center at Georgia College!
What's a Women's Center?
The Women's Center (WC) is a place where anyone can come and find out about gender issues. We are here because we believe women should be able to live life free from fear of partner violence, sexual assault, and sexual harassment. We believe women should be paid equitably, enjoy healthy self-esteem and have confidence that comes from within. If that sounds like something you believe in, then the Women's Center is for you!
A Statement about our Philosophy: We strive to support the empowerment of all women, promote a feminist* perspective, celebrate differences within and amongst all, provide a safe and welcoming space and promote change through an activist orientation.
* Feminism is the movement for social, political, and economic equality of men and women. Feminism also means that women have the right to enough information to make informed choices about their lives.* (Taken from Manifesta: Young Women, Feminism and the Future)
The Women's Center strives to create a warm, comfortable place for women and friends to come together. With educational resources through an extensive resource library and a quaint meeting space, all are welcome any time into the WC located 506 W. Greene Street in the Smith House. Check out our Calendar of Events page for upcoming activities.
