Georgia College & State University offers our students state-of-the-art performance facilities at several locations across campus. Our students, faculty and staff fill these halls with the sweet sounds of music at concerts throughout the year.
Max Noah Recital Hall
Max Noah Recital Hall is located on the third floor of Porter Hall. Student, faculty and guest artist chamber recitals are held here, as well as small theatre productions. Max Noah is an intimate venue that seats nearly 200 people.
Russell Auditorium
A campus landmark, Russell Auditorium features Greek Revival architecture and an elegant decor which serves the university and community well. The auditorium, built in 1928 and renovated in 1996, is fully air-conditioned and handicapped accessible. The auditorium seats up to 980 including the balcony, has a 1,000 square foot stage, an orchestra pit, computerized lighting system and two large dressing rooms with lighted mirrors and a shower.
Porter Hall
Porter Fine Arts Building, built in 1939, is the home of the Department of Music. Max Noah Recital Hall, faculty offices, classrooms, the piano lab and the Music Technology lab are located in this building.
Magnolia Ballroom
The Magnolia Ballroom is the premier event hosting space in the Student Activities Center. The Magnolia Ballroom regularly hosts weddings, concerts, and awards ceremonies.
