Scientific Competitions
Georgia College & State University offers a number of science and engineering contests that engage students of all ages and backgrounds.
Science & Engineering Fair:
Georgia College & State University Regional Science and Engineering Fair (RSEF) is proud to be affiliated with the Georgia Science & Engineering Fair (GSEF) and the International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF). The regional competition is hosted annually in February at Georgia College & State University. Participating Counties: Baldwin, Bibb, Hancock, Jasper, Jefferson, Jones, Laurens, Monroe, Putnam, Washington, Wilkinson, and Twiggs.
State K-5 Science Fair is proud to showcase primary and elementary-aged students from across the state of Georgia. The state K-5 competition is hosted annually in the second week of March at Georgia College & State University.
The Science and Engineering Fair showcases the results of inquiry by elementary, middle, and high school students in central Georgia. Participants at all K-12 levels identify problems and design unique, organized, and logical strategies for finding solutions. The research process teaches students how scientists and engineers contribute to the advancement of science and engineering.

Summer Science Programs
Georgia College & State University hosts a number of free and/or affordable summer enrichment science and mathematics programs. Our programs spark the imagination of youth through unique, engaging, inquiry-based activities.
- Science Camp - Explore the science of "FOOD" during this week-long academic camp.
- Young Scientists Academy - This summer, take six weeks to advance your knowledge and skills in the sciences by conducting university-level laboratory research!

Teacher Professional Development
Georgia College & State University offers exciting and cutting-edge professional development programs and courses for teachers to increase content and pedagogical skills that improve literacy in STEM disciplines. Community Programs
The focus of the 'STEMing into the Community' program is to share STEM with the community via science demonstrations and a hands-on STEM Marketplace staged at a variety of venues including schools, community centers, churches, libraries, and museums, among others. Each program is tailored to the needs of the individuals requesting a presentation. The presentations are designed to be informative and to provide positive role models of individuals who are interested in and enthusiastic about STEM. University Programs
The STEM Initiative at Georgia College & State University responds to the dire need for graduates in STEM-related professions by providing capacity-building activities that promote the development of a strong curriculum and instruction in STEM fields.
