The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) is a collaborative organization of nine historically African American, international fraternities and sororities. The nine NPHC organizations are sometimes collectively referred to as the "Divine Nine."
Georgia College & State University currently has eight chartered chapters of the Divine Nine. Within our 8 charted chapters, we currently have 4 Active Chapters (Alpha Phi Alpha, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Zeta Phi Beta), 4 Chapters ready to be reactivated (Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, Phi Beta Sigma, Sigma Gamma Rho), and 1 ready to be chartered (Iota Phi Theta)!
Divine 9 organizations put an emphasis on uplifting people of color. Our organizations all have national programs intended for the advancement of Black America, but neither the NPHC, nor its member, national, or chapter organizations discriminate on the basis of race or religion.
Recruitment
Membership intake for these organizations are coordinated by the chapters, their sponsoring local alumni chapter, and supported by the Department of Fraternity & Sorority Life. Recruitment opportunities take place at various times during the academic year.
