Biography

Tsu-Ming Chiang, Ph.D., Professor of Psychology, has been a faculty member, a mentor, and a leader in various roles in higher education for more than25 years. A dedicated faculty member, mentor, and leader, she has played integral roles in shaping academic environments. As the longstanding faculty mentor/advisor for the Student Research Circle, she has been instrumental since its inception. An elected councilor and Psychology Division representative for the Council of Undergraduate Research (CUR), she actively contributes to advancing research initiatives. In addition to her academic roles, Dr. Chiang served as the Interim Assistant Vice President of International Education at GCSU, promoting student success and preparing individuals for a global environment and having taught multiple study abroad programs in diverse countries. Recognized for her innovative teaching strategies and outstanding mentorship of undergraduate researchers, Dr. Chiang has earned prestigious accolades, including the 2021 Mentor Award from the Southeastern Psychological Association and the University-wide Excellence in Teaching Award. She remains committed to creating and delivering High Impact Learning practices, firmly believing in the transformative power of higher education to shape lives.

Natalie Clark

Coordinator of Undergraduate Research
Biography

Natalie is a recent Georgia College & State University graduate, having graduated as valedictorian in December 2024, earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Spanish Language & Culture. During her time at GCSU, she engaged deeply in undergraduate research, focusing on social-emotional development in children, COVID-19 disruptions, and communication disorders. Additionally, she presented her research findings across the country at various conferences on the local, regional, and national levels. Now, she is eager to guide and encourage students, helping them seize exciting opportunities to reach their full potential at GCSU.

Haley James

Biography

Haley (she/her/hers) is an English literature MA student here at GCSU, having obtained her BA in December of 2023. She has worked with MURACE since 2022, helping to facilitate Research Day 2023 and 2024, processing student funding, and keeping the website up to date. Her scholarship is widely centered around horror film studies, and she hopes to become published soon. After obtaining her MA, Haley plans to enter the corporate sector. She loves her dogs, her friends, and her family!
