Thundercloud provides students, faculty and staff access to GCSU software and resources while off-campus or on- the-go using a laptop, tablet or smartphone.
Thundercloud offers a complete Windows computer as a virtual machine with access to many of the core applications used around campus along with access for resources that require special configuration on the host computer. Thundercloud is accessible through an app on your computer or through a web browser. Please see the instructions in the accordion menus below for using each of these options.
VMWare Horizon HTML access (web browser)
- Navigate to thundercloud.gcsu.edu.
- Select the right option, VMWare Horizon HTML Access.
- Log in using your campus credentials.
- Approve the Duo authentication prompt.
- Select the appropriate computer you would like to use whether Faculty and Staff OR GCSU student.
- Log in using your campus credentials and the desktop will display for use.
VMWare Horizon Client (app)
- Navigate to thundercloud.gcsu.edu.
- If needed, download the app by selecting Click Here to Download VMWare Horizon Client.
- Select the app to download based on your operating system, Mac or Windows.
- Once downloaded, find the file and complete the installation process.
- Once installation complete, return to thundercloud.gcsu.edu and select the left option, Launch Native Client.
- Log in using your campus credentials.
- Approve the Duo authentication prompt.
- Select the appropriate computer you would like to use whether Faculty and Staff OR GCSU student.
- Log in using your campus credentials and the desktop will display for use.
