ODED 3500. FOUNDATIONS OF OUTDOOR EDUCATION. (2-2-3) FALL
An experiential survey of instructional topics and delivery models for teaching environment education. Field trips are required. Students may not receive credit for ODED 2120 and ODED 3500.
ODED 3530. PROGRAM PLANNING IN OUTDOOR EDUCATION. (4-0-4) SPRING
Prerequisites: Outdoor Education major and ODED 3010. Provides theoretical and experiential understanding of the design of outdoor education programs. Sequencing, event selection, outcomes development, and assessment are addressed. Laboratory and field trips are required.
ODED 3540. PRINCIPLES OF FIELD LEADERSHIP. (4-0-4) SPRING
Prerequisites: Outdoor Education major and ODED 3010. This course will focus on the activity-specific, educational, & human skills essential to all professional outdoor educators. Students will utilize a backcountry context to engage in a critical self-assessment process and practice implementing Site Management principles into field course management. Laboratory and field trips are required.
